Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role here at Tolpagorni!
Before I joined the network of TolpaTouch I worked as a Product Manager and R&D manager for a number of companies such as Ericsson, Telia and Unisource. For example, I was R&D manager at Ericsson in Silicon Valley, California. After a while I decided to try something new and ended up here as a consultant, helping others to improve their ways of working with Product Management and coaching Product Managers and Portfolio Managers in other companies.
Are you working on any specific project right now?
I’m working with a Swedish industry company right now. They are an old-school industry company, with two well defined focus areas: Sales and Production. The problem is that there is not so much Product Management-planning. Earlier, this was fine because their product was almost selling itself but that is not necessarily the case anymore. We help them carefully plan and strategize how they structure their products, how to access the target market, develop the market message and the modularization of the product.
Product management is a very broad subject, what do you think is the most challenging part when working with it?
It totally depends on what type of company and where they are in their journey. Working as a product manager, it’s always trying to play the impossible game. You need to know everything and be involved in everything but obviously it’s impossible to know everything about all projects at all times. It’s the Product Manager’s job to communicate and interact with all the different teams in the company and you really need to have the right Product Manager, in the right company, at the right time. I think maybe the craziest people are product managers!
What is the best about being a part of TolpaTouch?
One thing that I find really inspiring with Tolpagorni and TolpaTouch, is that we have a number of really experienced consultants who all have their own record of unique knowledge. If you have a problem and you don’t really know the best way forward, you have a number of people to discuss it with. I really feel that there is a huge competence within the Tolpagorni and TolpaTouch network.
Last question, what do you think the future will hold for you at TolpaTouch?
The simple answer would be a number of intriguing assignments and consultancy work for a number of companies. Exactly what the future will hold, I don’t know yet, but it is very interesting to work with all of these different companies and I’m looking forward to continue with it!
